A few notes
- Chiefs running back Darwin Thompson (illness) and linebacker Damien Wilson have been officially judged outside for the game. Right tackle Mike Remmers (back) is doubtful. When Remmers was injured last week, rookie Yasir Durant signed up for the tackle match.
- With the additional news that left tackle Eric Fisher (full back) officially questionable, Head coach Andy Reid was asked about the potential impact on the offensive line.
- REID: “One of the good things, if there’s a good thing – the way it’s set up now, is that you can have these veteran players on your training squad, so you have enough people here. . I think it’s a good deal. It’s kind of a storage area or a farm system, whatever you want to call it, but it’s good to have these guys and we were able to bring in a few of these types of players. at different positions. So, it helps you in this type of situation. If Remmers can’t go, then we have guys who have played in the league and who can step in and play.
- Fisher practiced with a full designation Friday, a good sign of his availability; Wilson will miss his second game in a row with the knee problem.
- Right guard Nick Easton (concussion) and wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) were on trial outside for the saints. Thomas ‘absence from the game is particularly significant, as he is the Saints’ most talented catcher.
- Chiefs wide receiver Byron Pringle and Saints quarterback Drew Brees have been named to return from the injured reserve but are not yet on the roster, so they do not appear in the report. Their additions are expected to take place on Saturday, and Brees is expected to begin.
