A toddler was shot in the head in a road rage incident on Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive, police said.

The shooting around 11 am Tuesday occurred after an incident “escalated into gunfire for about two blocks,” Police Commander Jake Alderden said at a press conference.

The 21-month-old man was shot to the head and was in intensive care at Lurie Children’s Hospital.
