Bloomington, Minnesota (WQOW) – Bloomington police said a 5-year-old had been pushed or thrown from the third floor of the Mall of America on Friday morning.

The child was seriously injured and taken to hospital, according to Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts.

Potts went on to say that the suspect, aged 24, did not know the child and that he had taken off immediately after the incident. He was arrested shortly after at the mall.

Potts said parts of the first and third floors of the mall were closed while the police were investigating.
