Two Ohio babysitters were arrested while they apparently would not have done anything when a 5-year-old girl was bullied on the part of his comrades, WCMH reported.

Emma Dietrich, 31, and Joshua Tennant, 27, both of Columbus, face charges of endangering children resulting from an incident at the Worthington Learning Center on August 13.

Police said the two men were sitting at a table in a classroom when one of Dietrich's older students brought another student into the room. The video shows the older student, along with other classmates, grabbing, pulling, dragging and swinging the girl while she closes her eyes and tries to protect herself, authorities said. WCMH notes that at one point, the 5-year-old girl is trying to retreat to a fetal position.

As the incident unfolded, Dietrich and Tennant observed that nothing had been done to prevent the children from intimidating the girl, the police said. However, Tennant grabbed the girl by the right ankle and, at another time, grabbed the other leg of the child and carried it upside down.

Court documents indicate that the workers allowed the bullying to occur because they wanted to punish the child.

Although several parents told WCMH that they had never had problems with Tennant, others said they would take their children out of the daycare.

According to reports, the Worthington Learning Center was reportedly last inspected by the state in June, after officials discovered several problems, including the fact that the daycare staff did not follow any training on child safety and abuse. The center eventually complies with state regulations.
