US President Donald Trump reacted strongly today to the announcement that the country's largest automaker, General Motors, plans to close at least four of its plants in the country, in a climate uncertainty about the world's largest economy and White House tariffs.
"GM's very disappointed and managing director, Mary Barra, will close factories in Ohio, Michigan and Maryland," the head of state said on Twitter. "They have nothing closed in Mexico and China."
"The United States has saved General Motors and that's the way to thank it," Trump said, citing the financial bailout that the United States had gotten ten years ago for GM and Ford at middle of the conflict.
The president also said that his administration was evaluating "the withdrawal of all subsidies granted to GM, including for electric cars".
