In the United States, a girl with an inoperable brain tumor was cured inexplicably, leaving the doctors who attended her speechless. Intrinsic Diffuse Pontic Glioma (GPID), a type of cancer that occurs in the brainstem in children.
The GPID "is very rare, but when it occurs, it is a devastating disease ," said Dr. Virginia Harrod, of the Children's Medical Center Dell from Texas, who serves Roxli. This cancer affects the cranial nerves and its most common symptoms are loss of balance, eye problems and vision, as well as difficulty speaking, swallowing and breathing.
Harrod also reported that the girl spent several weeks of radiation therapy to control the development of the tumor, but this disease is incurable .
Roxli's parents badured that the girl had been examined in various specialized centers of the country and all the diagnosis was GPID.
