The operators are fighting.
The Sub-Secretariat for Telecommunications of Chile (SUBTEL) presented its proposal for mobile tariffs, which would be 84% lower than we currently have.
It is specified that the proposal is billed $ 1.4 CLP per minute, the current amount of $ 8.76 of the claims program. For this, a model company was presented.
The precedent is the measurement parameter that operators should have in Chile and which, to the eye, would only work in the 4G network.
According to Pulse, the proposals of Entel and Movistar, which are the two most important players, push the cry to the sky, this one not being considered as a 3G network.
From Entel, they state:
Today, although the predominant technology is 4G, the model company network must be able to support both 4G and 3G technology and evolve towards VoLTE, a practically non-existent technology at the moment.
Remember that VoLTE refers to "Voice over LTE", that is, calls are also made to this network. A technology that currently exists in Chile and that some operators have, but in a very limited way. It should be mentioned that Voice 4G, as it is also known, is much better than the current predominant system for stability and clarity. This model must be applied eventually by mobile phone companies.
In case of complaint or objection from the companies concerned by this proposal, they have until December 1 to express their disagreement, which they will certainly do. Indeed, access to the mobile phone will necessarily cost much less, which must happen since Chile is one of the countries with the highest rates, for example those in the United States. OECD.
