Herbie Hanbad, one of the prominent figures in the history of jazz, will perform in Santiago next Monday, November 12, as part of the Stgo Fusión cycle concerts.
The pianist will perform at the Caupolicán Theater, the same venue that hosted his last performance in the capital five years ago.
On this occasion, Hanbad will be accompanied by a group that includes drummer Vincent Colaiuta, who has played with musicians such as Frank Zappa, Chea Leonard Cohen Corea and Sting, among others.
In addition to showing clbadical compositions from his repertoire, he also has to perform songs from the record he currently records, including collaborations with relevant names from the current international scene, such as Kendrick Lamar , Thundercat, Flying Lotus and Kamasi Washington.
At the age of 78 and with over a dozen Grammy Awards won, Hanbad has been a protagonist in some of the major aspects that jazz has embraced since the '60s. Miles Davis' quintet also explored funk, rock or electronic music and played with countless musicians.
