HIV-insured patients of the government health plan will have access to three new drugs after Secretary of Health Rafael Rodríguez Mercado today signed an agreement with the director of health Administration of Health Insurance (ASES) Ángela Ávila
As part of the agreement, reformed reform recipients who are living with HIV and those who participate in the Ryan program White will have access to the following medications in their health coverage: Trogarzo, Biktarvy and Juluca.
The signing of this agreement took place a few days before the celebration of World AIDS Day, which takes place every year on December 1st.

] The 5K against AIDS, which is being held for the first time this year, will take place at Luis Muñoz Rivera Park at 7:00. There will also be a health fair during the day.
In addition to a fashion show, as part of an alliance with the San Juan Moda organization, the event will also feature a theater play from the Circle Circle Theater's Carolina University of Puerto Rico. As a prelude to the fashion show, students from the University of Puerto Rico will perform an artistic performance, with actor and professor Teófilo Torres, through his Teatro Rodante.
As of October 31, 314 cases had already been identified. HIV / AIDS in Puerto Rico in 2018, for a total of 49,315 cases since the Ministry of Health began recording these diagnoses 34 years ago.
Most diagnoses, male and female, are between 25 and 34 years of age, the main mode of transmission being intravenous drug use, followed by badual contact between men and heterobadual contact.
Ministry of Health statistics reveal that at least two people are diagnosed with HIV every day, but one in six do not know it.
