If Republicans do not retain control of the Senate after Tuesday’s double second round of elections in Georgia, the political divide in the United States will turn from a “cold civil war” to a “large-scale hot conflict,” the representative. Chip Roy, R -Texas, warns Monday.
“If we have a democratically controlled Senate, we are now basically in a hot large-scale conflict in this country, while we are currently in a cold civil war,” Roy told “Tucker Carlson Tonight”.
“We have a major problem where Americans, ordinary people who work every day, Americans who work hard, are being trampled by a system rigged against them,” Roy said.
Georgia Republican Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler face fierce challenges from Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, respectively. With polls showing tight races in both contests, the second round drew hundreds of millions of dollars in spending. If Democrats win both contests, they will control the Senate for at least the first two years of President-elect Joe Biden’s administration.

“That’s what’s at stake,” said Roy. “People have to show up tomorrow to hold the line.”
Roy admitted that Republican voters in Peach State are “angry with big government and big tech and companies trampling on small businesses, [and] local governments that shut down small businesses and put them out of work. “

At the same time, he added, “they saw problems with the elections which reduce their confidence in elections which are important for democracy and for our country”.
But, Roy reiterated, “if the American people in Georgia don’t show up and make sure we have the Senate in the hands of the Republicans … they [Democrats] lock it up for good. “
