Netflix is in the early stages of developing a biopic on Hulk Hogan with Chris Hemsworth attached to the star and production of the legend of the fight.
Netflix has acquired the exclusive rights to life and consulting services of Terry Gene Bollea's AKA Hulk Hogan. Todd Phillips, whose credits include "War Dogs" and "The Hangover," is linked to the screenplay by the team of Scott Silver and John Pollono.
The producers are Michael Sugar in his first deal with Netflix, alongside Phillips and Bradley Cooper, Joint Efforts, Eric Bischoff and Hemsworth. Hogan will be the executive producer with Ashley Zalta of Sugar23. The co-producers are Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman.
The project should focus on the years of Hogan's glory-building, starting with the Florida wrestling circuit in the late 1970s and becoming the face of the World Wrestling Federation in the 1980s. The term "Hulkamania" was invented in 1984, Hogan often referring to his fans as "Hulkamaniacs" in his talks and encouraging them to focus on training, prayers and the consumption of vitamins.
Hemsworth is best known for representing Thor in the Marvel film universe, beginning with "Thor" in 2011, followed by "The Avengers", "Thor: The Dark World", "Avengers: Age of Ultron", "Doctor" Strange "," Thor: Ragnarok, "" Avengers: Infinity War "and the upcoming" Avengers: Endgame ", scheduled for release in April.
