BEREA, Ohio – One of the Browns' offensive linemen returned to training on Thursday, giving hope that the starting team will return to the field on Sunday.

Right tackle Chris Hubbard was inactive Sunday night in the Brown's 20-13 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Hubbard did not train all week prior to the match and was seen in the locker room in a walking shoe for the entire week.

"It was good to bring back Hub (Chris Hubbard) on a limited basis today right," said Freddie Kitchens after Thursday 's training. "I do not know yet he'll succeed [to play Sunday]but he has made progress, it's a good sign. "

Kitchens expects Hubbard to be a decisive decision.

"Just to see if he can go," he said. "We are going to build it tomorrow and see how it goes tomorrow, but it will probably be a decision to make at the time of the match."

Hubbard told reporters last week that he had had a "small light crack" in a right foot bone.

Keep Justin McCray replaced by Hubbard in the game. Hubbard started the first two games and played all offensive passes against the New York Jets in the 23-3 win. In the first game of the season against the Tennessee Titans, Hubbard started on the right tackle, but was replaced by the left tackle when Greg Robinson was ejected from the game midway. Hubbard played every game against the Titans.

McCray played all 72 offensive snaps at Hubbard's good tackle against the Rams after failing to face the Jets. The Browns gave three sacks against the Rams. He also took over for Hubbard at the right tackle against the Titans when an offensive tackle Kendall Lamm he's injured knee and Robinson was ejected.

In other injury news, wide receiver Rashard Higgins was on the coaches side. Higgins missed the last two games due to a knee injury, but had limited training until Thursday, when he practiced near the field during the practice portion of the game.
"On a limited basis, but there has been nothing significant in recent weeks – quite important," said Kitchens. "Higgins is nice from day to day, too. We will see how we feel tomorrow.

Higgins started against the Titans like the Browns in a set of three receivers and had two receptions for 46 yards.

It was assumed that Higgins was about to return to the game after missing two games and practicing on a limited basis every day.

Baker Mayfield says that he missed Higgins, but Damion Ratley fills very well for Higgins.

"Obviously, every time you lose a guy with whom I have chemistry, it's difficult, but I think Damion played very well," said Mayfield. "Obviously, he had a few shots last week – important catches, a third position – I think he did his job and that's what we're asking everyone, all of us those who play. "

Ratley replaced Higgins and captured seven passes for 93 yards, including a long 29-yard touchdown.

The other players who were on the side were cornerback Denzel Ward and Williams greedy, with both hamstrings and safety Morgan Burnett (quadriceps) and Sheldrick Redwine (tendon).

There was not a lot of update on Ward and Williams, either.

"They're always like that day-to-day," Kitchens said. "We'll see if they'll progress tomorrow."

Offensive offensive attack Kendall Lamm (knee) was not in practice.

Defensive backup attack Devaroe Lawrence, who missed Wednesday's practice for personal reasons, returned to practice.
