The return of Chris Mullin to St. John's will end without a win at the NCAA Tournament.

Mullin will leave the program with an official announcement this week, announced CBS Sports.

Mullin spent four years training his alma mater, ranging from 59 to 73 years old and reaching the NCAA tournament in his last season. His last game will be a defeat against the Bobby Hurley Arizona State team in the top four.

Hurley, who has rebuilt programs in Buffalo and Arizona, is high on St. John's wish list, according to CBS.

St. John's recruiter Matt Abdelmassih left the program last week to join Fred Hoiberg's staff in Nebraska, and Red Storm star Shamorie Ponds had already run for the NBA.
