Chris Rock has revealed that he plans to star in two of the biggest sitcoms of the 1990s – “Seinfeld” and “Friends”.
The comedian and actor sat down with Stephen Colbert for an interview on “The Late Show” on Monday and the duo discussed their long career in comedy, including some of the missed opportunities that were presented to them at the start.
The host brought up a recent rumor that Rock was a top choice to play Jerry Seinfeld’s best friend George Costanza on the hit sitcom.

“I just heard that one. I mean, it was a lot of talk on NBC,” the “Saturday Night Live” former said of his career at the time. “We talked about ‘Seinfeld’.”
Rock went on to reveal that he could also have been one of Central Perk’s six regulars on “Friends”.
“I was referred to as one of the ‘friends’ at one point. Yes, I would have been the black friend. That’s basically who I am in America anyway at this point.

Although he did not specify which of the cast members he would have been on “Friends,” Rock took a moment to acknowledge that he thought “Seinfeld” was going in the right direction by picking Jason Alexander for the role. on him.
“Let’s just say the right people at ‘Seinfeld’ made the right choice. It is good. He’s amazing, ”he said.
It wasn’t the only role on a sitcom Rock missed. He revealed that he was also being ignored for the role of Theo Huxtable’s best friend, Cockroach, on “The Cosby Show”.

“I was supposed to be Cockroach on ‘The Cosby Show’. It was supposed to happen, when I was Theo’s best friend, and thank goodness that didn’t happen, ”Rock joked, referring to Bill Cosby’s subsequent conviction for sexual assault, for which he is currently serving a prison sentence.
