Chris Rock told his social media followers on Sunday that he was sick with Covid-19, and the comedian urged people to get vaccinated.
Mr Rock did not specify his symptoms, but his infection was a breakthrough case, which means he contracted Covid despite his vaccination. Revolutionary cases have become more common as the highly contagious Delta variant spreads across the country.
In May, the comedian and actor appeared on “The Tonight Show” and told host Jimmy Fallon he couldn’t wait to get the shot. “I’m Rock two-shot, that’s what they call me,” he said before adding that he had received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is a single dose.
He joked that he would have pushed aside his fellow actors to get the shot. “I used my celebrity, Jimmy,” Mr. Rock said. ” I did not care. I was like, ‘Hey, step aside, Betty White.’ “
