Five months after losing her son Jack just 20 weeks into her pregnancy, Chrissy Teigen addresses critics accusing her of “using” her painful experience to promote herself.

On Saturday Teigen tweeted about watching and enjoying 2008 Tina Fey and Amy Poehler comedy Baby mom.

“Watching Baby mom again and Tina and Amy are an amazing couple, always. They are not here but someone tells them that if they are looking for a household I have a tricycle, ” joked Teigen.

This tweet prompted a commenter to respond, “I’m so glad you stopped using your terrible miscarriage to keep promoting yourself.” A passionate tweeter, Teigen soon replied with a simple, “Something to please you, Katie.”

The cookbook author, who shares daughter Luna and son Miles with her husband John Legend, has garnered support from other members of the Hollywood community. Actress Patricia Arquette called the comment “intentionally cruel and ignorant”, while the former The right place star Jameela Jamil urged, “delete this.”

“Disgusting,” the author and political commentator added. HE Cupp. “There is a moral crisis in this country of people coming out of this by hurting other people they will never meet. We need to rediscover our empathy.”

Several Twitter users who also suffered traumatic loss joined them in responding, thanking Teigen for speaking out so openly about his experience and for sharing how it had helped them.

“I doubt you see this, but I want to thank you for speaking out. I lost a baby in June and you and your messages have helped me through.” comment. “I’m pregnant again now (at 40! Yikes!) And every day I hope things will work out this time. Thank you for supporting me and the others.”

“So many of us have been there, Chrissy” another. “Thanks for talking about miscarriages. Mine wasn’t as far as yours, but it was heartbreaking in its own way and I love you talking about it. Thank you very much!

“What’s wrong with people? For the record, speaking as someone who has suffered a miscarriage, some of us appreciate your openness and honesty. Anytime someone with a -form talks about a difficult subject, it makes things a lot easier. for the rest of us, “ wrote to comment.

“Your honesty about your miscarriage has done more good than you might think,” another fan sharing. “Stay true to yourself and your voice.”

Teigen has been open about her grief since losing her third child on September 30 to a partial placental abruption that bed rest, hospitalization and blood transfusions have failed to cure. Despite her struggles, she recently said the experience made her a “better person”.

“It seems so long ago,” Teigen said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this month, Yahoo Life previously reported. “Of course it was all so blurry and I’m thinking about it now, I’m still in therapy about it and I’m still coming to terms with it in a way.”

She went on to say that she had been “brought up in a house that was very open to loss” which gave her a strong perspective on the situation. “It was a really transformative thing for me,” Teigen said. “In a sense, [Jack] Really saved me because I don’t think I would have discovered therapy and then sobriety and this way to really feel good about myself and feel like a new person. “

Teigen previously referred to those who criticized her decision to share intimate details about her pregnancy loss, including photos of her in the hospital, in a personal essay for Medium published a month after the loss of Jack.

“I can’t express how little I care that you hate photos,” she wrote. “I don’t care if it’s something you wouldn’t have done. I experienced it, I chose to do it, and more than anything, these photos are not intended for anyone but people who have been through that or who are curious enough to wonder what something like that looks like. These photos are only for people who need them. I don’t care what other people think. “
