Chris Sale sealed the victory of the 2018 World Series of the Red Sox against the Los Angeles Dodgers by stoking Manny Machado for the final of the fifth game. The strike gave rise to a big party during which the Red Sox receiver, Christian Vazquez, rushed to the mound and jumped into the balloon arm.

It was a pure moment of joy for Sale and Vazquez. They have since exchanged gifts as a souvenir of this occasion.

Vazquez revealed to Christopher Smith of MassLive.com this weekend that he had handed Sale a special mobile phone cover in January, while they were attending the wedding of teammate Matt Barnes in Bonita Springs, in Florida. The cover is wooden and carries the image of Vazquez The engraved sale arms.

"I had one and I gave him one," Vazquez told Smith at JetBlue Park, adding that he had designed them at a mall in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where the recipient live during the off season.

Dirty, obviously very grateful, reacted by giving Vazquez a great photo of his World Series celebration at the start of his spring training in Fort Myers, Florida. Both players signed the picture, one of several of their agent, BB Abbott, had achieved the Red Sox ace, according to Smith.

The real prize for Sale, Vazquez and the rest of the 2018 Red Sox is obviously the ring of the championship they will receive in several weeks, as well as the unforgettable memory of having accomplished something very special. The exchange of gifts during the off season makes it a good story, however.

Maybe they can update their phone shells with another celebration this season?
