When Christian Yelich dominated in the first four games of the season, all opposed to the St. Louis Cardinals, it was a fun curio: a series of consecutive wins in the season of the MVP. Brewers Right and an excellent player in an unusual way. Gabe Fernandez even wrote about it here, with Yelich averaging one dinger per game. Dullness was part of the pleasure. It is certain that the 27-year-old could not continue to dominate his circuit against St. Louis, not only because he had only hit one opponent since that first run, but also because it did not work that way.

Well, not only was Yelich invited on Monday when the Brewers welcomed the Cardinals back to Milwaukee, but he went supernova again, hitting three homers and leading in a team record of seven points in a 10-7 win:

His second home race was the biggest of the three, breaking a 6-6 tie at the bottom of the sixth with a second-bridge shot at right field:

And his third was the most impressive of the pack, while Yelich came out a little center left to extend the Brewers lead to four in the bottom of the eighth:

In the first game, he extended his five-game home run series against St. Louis, becoming the sixth player in history to do so against the formidable Cardinals:

The Brewers are now 4-1 against their rivals in the center of the NL, mainly because of their most defensive player, but also a 1-2 win over March 31 against the same Cardinals. Against St. Louis, Yelich has nine hits, including seven at home, accompanied by seven walks and 14 points produced. It is an OPS of [checks notes] hmm, 2,696. Maybe the cardinals should stop punching him.

Oh, and Yelich has also brought a family of Brewers fans to get a puppy, which will quite rightly be called "Yeli":
