Christie Brinkley doesn’t shy away from being 67, because she feels (and looks) ageless.

The model, whose February 2 birthday is fast approaching, has sounded aging after experiencing health issues and quarantine. “In 8 days, it will be groundhog day! And I’ll be 50 for the 17th time! lol! Brinkley joked in an Instagram post on Monday, sharing a photo of herself wearing a sports bra and baby blue leggings.

“I love birthdays! I just don’t like the numbers so I pretty much ignore them, never felt as old as the number anyway… until this year, ”she said. “After my very unpleasant fracture of my right arm and the frozen shoulder it gave me, I couldn’t do dogs, boards, push-ups, and at the other end my hip was getting worse year after year. year and long bike rides left me. limping … I started to feel limited! Limit! Dare I say … old man!

In September 2019, rehearsing for the season 28 premiere of Dancing with the stars along with pro Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Brinkley tripped and landed on his arm. “The second I landed I felt the shards in my arm,” said Brinkley People following the incident. “Like, I literally felt it in my wrist, and I immediately looked up and said, ‘I’m so sorry, I broke my arm.'”

She added, “There is a small bone in the thumb that usually goes one way. Mine was in the opposite direction. Then there was the bone, just that, it was just broken into a thousand little pieces, just a million little pieces. Unable to participate in the popular television contest, she was replaced by her 22-year-old daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook.

“I just couldn’t get enough vigorous exercise, and my forties came with banana bread and the inevitable extra pounds,” Brinkley wrote in her post. “I have to add that I felt overwhelmed by the number of injuries I was facing (I was very adventurous! Ouch!) But I realized I just needed to start with one thing and keep moving forward. .

After his fall, Brinkley underwent several surgeries, including injections of platelet-rich plasma, a therapy that can reduce inflammation. And this month, she had hip surgery related to a helicopter crash in 1994 while skiing in Colorado with friends. As reported this year by the Associated press, the group was trapped on top of a mountain for five hours until they were rescued by cable.

Although doctors recommended hip replacement surgery 12 years ago, Brinkley admitted in a Jan.5 Instagram post that she postponed the “intimidating” procedure until recently.

Now she is “delighted” to be able to move her body again.

“So I took action, I fixed my hip, I got the total replacement,” she wrote in her last post. “I get stronger every day and I love [to] I think I’m up for anything … a hike, snorkel, paddleboard, ride, ski and even a big piece of birthday cake! Hey, I can work on it! “
