Christina ricci says quarantine was a dangerous time in her home, because her husband had allegedly beaten her several times and she now fears for her life and that of their son.
The actress filed Wednesday for a restraining order against James heerdegen, who she says started abusing her in December 2019. In her file, Christina claims he beat her, spat on her and made porky noises in her face. She says this incident, in which she suffered from multiple bruises, convinced her that she had to leave him.
Christina says she told James she wanted a divorce, but it got derailed when the COVID-19 quarantine began in March, and she “found herself trapped in a house with a violent assailant.”
In the documents, she claims Heerdegen attacked her twice in June, while she was still on lockdown … chasing her around the house, trying to prevent her from calling 911 after an argument. He allegedly dragged her by the wrists into their yard and threw her into a home … leaving her cut and bruised.
During the second attack, she claims he spat on her and threw coffee and a chair at her – all while their 6-year-old son was watching.
Christina has filed several photos with the court, showing injuries she claims to have sustained at Heerdegen’s hands.
Christina filed for divorce after these alleged incidents, and his lawyer, Samantha Spector, was in court on Wednesday to file the restraining order.
According to the documents, obtained by TMZ, Christina also fears Heerdegen’s abuse could turn fatal. On a drive in late 2019, she claims that James “said something that made me think that [he] could kill me. He said the only way for him to feel sorry for me was to tear me up into little pieces. “
Christina says she immediately hid all the knives in the cabin they were on vacation.
Late Wednesday, the judge granted a restraining order for domestic violence … which requires Heerdegen to stay 100 meters from Christina and their son, and have no contact with them.
Christina claims Heerdegen leaves the dog on a leash at his living room coffee table when he visits their son – and under the restraining order he must also stay away from the dog.
Despite having already moved, Christina wants a formal court order preventing James from returning.
And, there is this … Christina is afraid that her ex-husband – whom she married in 2013 – will release audio and video recordings deprived of her to “humiliate and embarrass her”, or the use to extort him. She wants the court to prevent her from releasing him and force him to return him.
Heerdegen’s lawyer, Larry Bakman, tells TMZ that they will file their own restraining order against Christina “detailing her abusive conduct fueled by alcohol and drug addiction. Her papers will also include documents that Ms Ricci informed law enforcement about in December 2019 that there had been no incident of violence between the couple, thus calling into question their credibility. “
He also claims that his client “unequivocally denies all allegations of abuse made by Ms. Ricci as having occurred in 2020”.
