Christina Ricci has requested a restraining order against her husband James Heerdegen, which a judge granted on Wednesday evening.

Ricci, who filed for divorce from Heerdegen in July over allegations of alleged abuse, has provided new details about the alleged abuse, reports TMZ.

The 40-year-old ‘Casper’ star claims Heerdegen’s abuse began in December 2019, when she told him she wanted a divorce, albeit when the COVID-19 lockdown began in March , she “found herself trapped in a house with a violent assailant.

Her file claims that Heerdegen assaulted her twice in June 2020, allegedly dragged her into the house and threw coffee and a chair at her. Another detail revealed in his latest file: James told Ricci that “the only way for him to feel sorry for me is to tear me up into small pieces” in late 2019, “something that made me feel [he] could kill me.

Judges order Heerdegen to stand at least 100 meters from Ricci and 6-year-old son Freddie and have no contact with them. She is also seeking a formal court order preventing him from returning to their home, from which he has already left.

Ricci also seeks to prevent Heerdegen from releasing unspecified audio and video files that she fears he will use to extort or “humiliate and embarrass her”, and wants him to hand over the documents to her.

Through his attorney, Larry Bakman, Heerdegen told TMZ that he “unequivocally denies any allegations of abuse made by Ms Ricci as having occurred in 2020” and told the site that he planned to file his own restraining order against Ricci “detailing his abusive conduct fueled by alcohol and substance abuse.”

“Her papers will also include documents that Ms. Ricci informed law enforcement in December 2019 that there had been no incidents of domestic violence between the couple, thus questioning her credibility.

Ricci and Heerdegen met in 2011 on the set of Ricci’s ill-fated series “Pan Am” and got married in 2013.
