The pressure to deliver these Christmas gifts on time has increased exponentially for retailers and carriers as the coronavirus pandemic has more people shopping online and needing delivery services to receive their items.
In an attempt to avoid overcrowded networks that would lead to a delay in deliveries, retailers started holiday sales months earlier than expected, stepped up recruiting efforts, and expanded options like curbside pickup.

With the number of coronavirus cases on the rise in the United States and cold weather preventing people from entering stores, shipping networks could be even more strained in the coming weeks.
However, FedEx, UPS, and the U.S. Postal Service are doing their part to help shoppers navigate the busy shopping season by providing recommended expiration dates for delivery scheduled by December 25.
