“Gator Girl” Christy Kroboth told CNBC that she believed the massive alligator at a golf course in Naples, Fla. Was “real.”
“I saw huge alligators, the biggest I ever caught was 12.5ft, and it’s huge, they’re huge, they’re out there,” said Kroboth, who earns a living. to track and capture alligators.
Golf pro Tyler Stolting spotted and recorded the alligator prowling the Valencia Golf and Country Club course on Wednesday. In a Friday night interview on “The News with Shepard Smith,” Kroboth said Tropical Storm Eta could be one of the reasons the alligator was so far out on the golf course.
“When we had Hurricane Harvey the water came up and pushed alligators all over the place,” Kroboth said. “The alligator’s hibernation season is approaching as well, so he might be looking for a den to rest for the winter season.”
Kroboth told host Shepard Smith that an alligator can grow to around two feet when standing on all fours. “Gator Girl” however warned to stay away from reptiles.
“If you see one, back away slowly, give it some space,” Kroboth said. “Just respect the animal.”
