Chrome 92 for iOS adds support for ‘Full Page’ screenshots

Google is rolling out Chrome 92 for iOS today with a number of new features and tweaks for users.

With this update, Google Chrome now supports full screen system-level screenshots just like Safari. After taking a capture with the standard button combination for your device and tapping the preview that appears in the lower left corner, you will see a new “Full Page” tab.

From there, you can use the tool to customize, save, and share. By comparison, Google is still working on this capability for Chrome in Android 12.

For security, you can lock private browsing tabs so that they require a touch / face ID or passcode before they can be opened. This is ideal when you share devices with others. To enable this feature, go to the Settings> Privacy> Lock private browsing tabs.

Meanwhile, Chrome 92 is changing settings, history, and bookmarks so that line items aren’t edge-to-edge. On the contrary, everything is now rounded for a more modern look, but less dense.

From the tab selector, you can now press and hold a page to share, bookmark, or add to reading list. Likewise, Chrome will ask for confirmation before allowing users to close all of their tabs from the Switch.

Google is also touting a “new Discover design on New Tab page” that we haven’t spotted yet. Finally, Chrome 92 for iOS includes “stability and performance improvements”. Desktop update will follow later today.

All of these features are mentioned in the version 92 changelog. The update is already available through the App Store, but most features are rolled out through a separate server-side update and are not immediately available.
