Chuck Norris is speaking out after a photo showing the actor during the deadly Capitol Riot last week went viral.
On Tuesday, the 80-year-old took to Instagram and Twitter where he mentioned the rumor in a post.
“It came to my attention that unfortunately there was a Chuck Norris lookalike during the DC Capitol riots on January 6,” the actor’s caption read. “It was not me and I was not there. Let me be clear that there is no room for violence of any kind in our society, including in the context of protests policies. “
“A peaceful transition of power is fundamental to our democratic system of government,” Norris said. “I am and always will be for Law and Order. Your friend, Chuck Norris.”
A representative for Chuck Norris told Fox News the martial artist and actor was not at the Capitol Riot last week.

A photo appearing to show the martial artist taking a selfie with a Trump supporter in Washington, DC began circulating on Twitter, implying that Norris was present. The photo was apparently taken before the start of the violent uprising on the Capitol building.
According to People magazine, the Trump supporter posing with the lookalike has since been identified as Matthew Bledsoe, who captioned the snap “Chuck Norris.”
Norris manager Erik Kritzer told Fox News on Tuesday that the man in question was not the star of the action.
“He’s not Chuck Norris and he’s a budding doppelganger although Chuck is much more handsome,” Kritzer wrote. “Chuck is staying at his ranch in Texas, where he has been with his family.”
On January 6, supporters of President Trump gathered at a protest in Washington, DC that led to a riot in which hundreds of people violated the security of the U.S. Capitol building as the Senate voted for certify the votes of President-elect Joe Biden in the Electoral College.
Five people died from the riot. In a statement, Capitol Police said more than 50 officers from the Metropolitan Police Department and Department were injured. Several of them were “hospitalized with serious injuries”.
In 2017, Texas named Norris Texan Honorary – a title befitting the former “Walker, Texas Ranger” star.
Norris has starred in numerous action and martial arts films over the decades, in addition to playing the main character in the “Walker” television series from 1993 to 2001.

Norris was born in Oklahoma but lived in Texas. A conservative Christian, he campaigned for some of the state’s top Republicans, most notably with US Senator Ted Cruz during his run for the White House and with Governor Greg Abbott in 2014.
For over a decade, Norris has been the center of popular online jokes and memes crediting him with superhuman strength and impossible feats.
Norris is a longtime Republican and endorsed Trump in the 2016 presidential election against Hillary Clinton. However, People magazine noted that Norris had not publicly shared his endorsement for the 2020 election.
