Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon will miss at least three more games.

The team announced on Saturday that they had placed Mixon on the injured reserve. Mixon (foot) was already ruled out for this Sunday’s game in Washington.

Sources say NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport According to the team, Mixon will stay in IR for the minimum three weeks and return for the remainder of the 2020 season. Rapoport adds that Mixon is doing all he can to get back on the pitch, but the goal is to make sure. that he is 100% healthy upon his return.

Mixon suffered a foot injury in Week 6 against the Colts and has not played since. In six games this season, Mixon has 428 yards and three rushing touchdowns while adding 138 yards and another score in the air.

Giovani Bernard has taken over most of the pictures in Mixon’s recent absence. The dependable veteran has produced three touchdowns in the team’s last three games, but with Bernard being the main pass return, precipitous opportunities await Samaje Perine and Trayveon Williams in the future.

Perine has appeared in all nine games this season; run for 83 yards on 19 attempts (4.4 ypc) and find the end zone once. Williams played three games, totaling 22 yards on five attempts.
