While the median asking price of a US home reached a record high of $ 300,000 in March, not all housing markets are seeing the same momentum, according to data from Realtor.com.

Prices are down in many metropolitan areas where the value of housing was on the run. For example, the median price in San Jose, California was $ 1,100,050 in March. This is the highest price charged by 500 US metropolitan areas, but is 11.6% lower than last year.

Median prices in Denver and Boulder, Colorado – once very hot markets – also posted similar declines. The worst drop was recorded in Lynchburg, Virginia, where the median selling price fell 37% year-over-year to $ 145,000.

In total, 114 of the 500 markets that Realtor.com surveyed experienced a decline in the median selling price. Here is the top 10.
