Clare Crawley is “crushed” following her breakup with “Bachelorette” candidate Dale Moss.
In an Instagram post Thursday, Crawley, 39, said she “had been made aware of a ‘mutual’ statement at the same time as you were all told,” but that she “needed a little time to really digest it ”.
“Speaking of myself, my intentions regarding this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is I’m crushed,” she said.
On Tuesday, Moss – whose whirlwind romance with Crawley culminated in an engagement in season 16 of “The Bachelorette” last year – confirmed the two had gone their separate ways.
“I wanted to share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Moss, a 32-year-old former NFL player, said on Instagram at the time.
“We appreciate the love and support we’ve received from so many people, but it’s the healthier decision for both of us right now,” he continued.
Crawley said Thursday “It wasn’t what I expected or hoped for and I’m still trying to deal with it.
“2020 has been a hell of a year, with Covid battling severe anxiety after the show, balancing a new public relationship, while slowly losing my mom,” Crawley continued. “It wasn’t ideal circumstances, but it is life. I waited impatiently for the light at the end of the tunnel.
Crawley, who was previously engaged to former Bachelor Winter Games student Benoit Beauséjour-Savard, added that her relationship with Moss “was not perfect” but was “truly invested with all my heart” .
“I may not have all the answers, but I do – I will continue to show myself, keep my word and commit to love,” Crawley concluded.
Earlier this week, Page Six exclusively reported on how Crawley and Moss had conflicting ideas about their future.
“There’s a whole bunch of issues between them,” a source told us. “I don’t know what the specific breaking point was, but she wants him to move to Sacramento and he’s not crazy about that. She wants children right away, not him.
In addition to the most recent season of “The Bachelorette”, Crawley appeared on “The Bachelor” in 2014, and then joined the cast of “Bachelor in Paradise” in the first and second seasons. She also participated in the “Bachelor Winter Games” of 2018.
