LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – The Clark County Commission held an emergency meeting today in response to the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the county and voted unanimously for a mandate to employee mask.
The meeting began with passionate pleadings from community members on both sides of the debate, followed by testimonials from the Southern Nevada Health District.

After the Commissioners posed questions to the SNHD representative, they debated their options before voting on a motion put forward by Commissioner Jim Gibson.
The motion said all Clark County employers must require their employees to wear a mask when in public areas of the building. Those in closed offices or cubicles do not have to wear a mask when in their confined spaces, but must wear a mask when in public areas.
This new mandate will take effect at 11:59 p.m. on July 21 and will run until August 17, when the commissioners will meet again.
