A 52-17 win over Pitt in quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s last home game on Saturday for Clemson? It would definitely look like a video tweeted by the Tigers social media team after the game. After a 403-yard passing performance and two touchdowns, Lawrence briefly reflected on what being at Clemson has meant to him.
“Last night at Death Valley. Super special night. I wouldn’t want to go out any other way. I’m just so grateful to be outside of Clemson University, and more of this program,” Lawrence said. “I love all the coaches, all the players … my years here have been amazing.”

It has long been believed that not only will Lawrence declare himself for the 2021 NFL Draft after the season, but he will likely be the No. 1 overall pick. Even though he left every chance of returning to the Tigers in 2021, he’s been pretty straightforward with his intentions to turn pro next year. He also has participated in daytime activities for seniors ahead of Pitt’s game as well, but it’s worth pointing out that he’s on track to graduate in December. Still, unless there’s an official announcement from him and / or Clemson, it’s as close as you’re going to get to the star quarterback stating the obvious.
Technically, it’s possible that Pitt’s game won’t be Lawrence’s last home game. Clemson made a big stench about the Florida state cancellation on November 21, going so far as to say the makeup game should be played in Death Valley instead of Tallahassee. We’ll see if that ends up being the case, but Lawrence’s video intentions still resonate.
