The Gamecocks scored four points in two games early in the second set, with a three-point record for Kirklin. Kyle Wilkie led at the bottom of the second run with a home run, his sixth of the year and then Bryce Teodosio lined up a single on two outlets, scoring points later in the frame.
Jacksonville State loaded the goals without outs and scored two points in the fifth inning, then did the same in the seventh.
Isaac Alexander added a simple scoring points at the beginning of the eighth round. Michael Green extended his strike streak to 14 games with a single at the end of the eighth inning.
Corley Woods (7-0) won the win, while he launched 2.1 scoreless innings.
The Gamecock pitchers combined to allow only one of the 17 scorers to score after a long ball from Wilkie, the first Clemson hitter to reach in the match, in the second inning.
Tiger starter Brooks Crawford (1-5) suffered defeat while he conceded six runs on seven hits in 4.0 innings.
