Jarvis Landry called Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters a “coward” after a video clip showed Peters apparently spitting at the Cleveland Browns wide receiver as he walked away Monday night.
“He’s a coward,” Landry said Thursday. “I think he knew that maybe behind my back he would do things like that, but in my opinion he wouldn’t. … Now I know. Everyone knows the type of player he is. is, the type of person he is. “
The incident happened at the end of the first quarter of Monday Night Football. Landry said he didn’t realize Peters spat on him before the match was over, watching a replay of the ESPN show.
“Wait until I turn around and do something like that? It’s like, do it in the face,” Landry said. “Be a man about it if you’re going to do something like this.
When asked if he was concerned the sputum violates NFL COVID-19 protocols, Landry replied, “If there is a protocol for being a man, it definitely isn’t.”
The Ravens ended up beating the Browns 47-42 in one of the best games this season in the NFL.
Landry said he would remember the spit the next time he meets Peters on the pitch, which could be in the AFC playoffs if the Browns and Ravens both advance to the playoffs.
“I’m not going to lose sleep,” Landry said. “But it will definitely make it another unforgettable game.”
