Clint Eastwood’s ‘Cry Macho’ Trailer Might Make You Cry

Clint Eastwood is back onscreen and in the director’s chair with “Cry Macho,” a modern new western that sees the screen icon return in familiar form.

He plays a former rodeo star and failed horse breeder who takes a job bringing a man’s young son home and away from his alcoholic mother. On their journey, Clint finds redemption by teaching the boy what it means to be a good man.

Based on the novel of the same name by N. Richard Nash in 1975, the film also stars Dwight Yoakam, Fernanda Urrejola and Horacio Garcia Rojas.

In the trailer, Eastwood tries to teach the young man that being “macho” is overrated and that no one really has the answers to life’s big questions. All to touching piano music, as we often hear in Eastwood movies, ensuring that many potential machos will cry like babies this fall.

At 91, Eastwood remains at the peak of his game as an actor and filmmaker, after two impressive efforts with “The Mule” in 2018 and underrated “Richard Jewell” in 2019.
