Nearly 13,000 pounds of diced beef and chicken products are being recalled due to poorly labeled allergens and undeclared allergens, the Security and Inspection Services Department said Sunday. Foods (FSIS) from the United States.
Products based on Brea, California-based Fieldsource Food Systems, Inc., contain wheat, which is not on product labels, said FSIS.
Raw, pickled and diced beef and chicken products were produced from June 9 to July 10, 2019, FSIS said.
The following products have been identified as topics for recall:
- 20 lb. boxes containing four unmarked 5 lb. plastic bags bearing "NORTHGATE MARKET MARKED BEEF CUBES" and lot codes 061019 through 071019 shown on the label.
- 20 lb. boxes containing four 5 lb. unmarked plastic bags bearing the "NORTHGATE MARKET MARKED CHICKEN CUBES" and lot codes 061019 through 071019 shown on the "FIELDSOURCE Food Systems, Inc." label.
In addition, the recalled beef products bear the establishment number "EST 45141" and the chicken products are marked with the establishment number "P-45141". 45141 "inside the inspection mark of the USDA," said the FSIS.
FSIS stated that there were no confirmed reports of consumer reactions to the above-mentioned products, but that it shared concerns regarding products stored in refrigerators and behind the deli counter in grocery stores.
