Closing of the signing day, overview of what will follow for football in Georgia

It was another successful signing day for the Georgia Bulldogs, as Georgia secured third place overall in the 247Sports Composite.

The Bulldogs have signed their 20 commitments and landed a 5-star player in Xavian Sorey Jr.

Sorey was one of the 5-star signatories of the class, as he joined Amarius Mims, Brock Vandagriff and Smael Mondon.

Georgia has also signed many of Georgia State’s top players, with the Bulldogs netting seven of Georgia State’s top 11 prospects.

“It’s a closer to home course, which is likely led by COVID and more kids who want to stay closer to home, and that’s important to us,” Georgia coach Kirby said Smart. “We always say, ‘Take care of the state first’. I sat here on one of these [signing] a few days before where that wasn’t the case, and it wasn’t that we weren’t featuring our home region, but it certainly made it more convenient to deal with the guys, as they wanted to be close to their families and have their families come and watch them play.

DawgNation team members Jeff Sentell and Mike Griffith discuss which Bulldogs have the best chance of making an immediate impact and who will be the best player in their class in the long run.

The group is also joined by former Georgia rapper Randy McMichael to discuss some of the topics and take out.
