CM Punk is really impressed with Pat McAfee (update)

Every time CM Punk talks or tweets about wrestling, it’s news. He has always been a personality that elicits a reaction, and his exit from WWE and his choice to remain largely out of the business has only heightened fans’ fascination.

So this Punk tweet was going to grab some attention. But this will be amplified even more because, (a) this is someone’s mic skill, and Punk is known as one of the best promotions in history, and (b) because he is essential for a lot of other people’s micro skills. Punk uses his praise and criticism for motivation, but some aren’t going to give him credit for it – or even believe it was sincere intention.

Before I comment further on Punk’s tweet, here it is:

The former NFL All-Pro turned multimedia personality wowed a lot of people with his promotional work … and how quickly he picked up all aspects of pro wrestling. Punk admits it’s cool and not controversial.

The rest, which can be interpreted as speaking to everyone in NXT, everyone in WWE, or everyone in wrestling, is what is going to get wrestling fans talking.

This is one of the things Punk is the best in the world at.

UPDATE: Punk continued his dialogue with a few followers while do treadmill work, and revealed that there was someone on the NXT list that he held in higher esteem than McAfee.

He also acknowledged what a lot of fans pointed out (that Pat isn’t scripted like other WWE talents are), and pointed out that he spoke about it in his original tweet.
