Country music stars will gather at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday night for the 2019 Country Music Television (CMT) awards.
Although this is only the 18th edition of the CMT Music Awards, the ceremony dates back to 1967 – it was then called the Music City News Awards, according to CBS.
The show will be filled with performances of the best musicians of country music and will also pay tribute to the best of the genre – and beyond.

How do I look?
The award ceremony will be broadcast on CMT at 8pm. AND Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
It will also be broadcast live on CMT.com or from CBS All Access, according to Billboard.
Who is the host?
For the second year in a row, Little Big Town members – Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook, Kimberly Schlapman and Philip Sweet – will host the ceremony. The group will also perform during the show.
Who is good?
Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band are part of the show list.

There will also be a number of collaborative performances, including Brandi Carlile and Tanya Tucker; Brett Young and Boyz II Men; Thomas Rhett, Little Big Town and Trombone Shorty; and Sheryl Crow and Maren Morris.

There are more than 20 famous presenters for the CMT Music Awards, including Sarah Hyland, Keifer Sutherland, JWoww and Kate Bosworth.
Hunter Hayes, Bobby Bones, Jessie James Decker, Julia Michaels and Trisha Yearwood are also featured.
Who are the nominees?
The nominees for the CMT Music Awards were announced in early May, with five artists nominated for three awards each: Osborne Brothers, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris and Zac Brown Band.

Carrie Underwood, who has received the most awards in the history of CMT with 18, is nominated for the year 's video and female video of the year. Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Dan + Shay, Georgia Line Florida, Kacey Musgraves and Cole Swindell are two of the nominees.
The Little Big Town host group was also nominated for two awards.

After a public voting period in May and early June, the top five video contestants of the year were announced on Wednesday morning. Among the finalists are Underwood's "Cry Pretty", Keith Urban's "Coming Home", Kane Brown's "Good as You", "She's got the best of me" and "Miss Me More" by Kelsea Ballerini.
The CMT Music Awards will also feature artists from outside the world of country music: Taylor Swift is nominated for two awards alongside Sugarland for her song "Babe". Shawn Mendes, Boyz II Men and Leon Bridges also won nominations.
