Don Lemon may be looking for a new boyfriend.
Brooke Baldwin, a CNN presenter who for some time became the face of the cable media’s daytime schedule, announced Monday that she plans to exit the WarnerMedia-backed outlet by mid -April.
“The next chapter of my life will be focused on what I love most about my job: amplifying the lives of amazing Americans,” she said as she opened her Monday afternoon show. She leaves as many expect CNN to unveil some sort of revamp to its daytime schedule that could see early afternoon anchor Brianna Keilar co-host “New Day,” the morning show. network, while Alisyn Camerota, currently broadcast in the morning, could switch to the afternoon. Other movements are also possible.
Baldwin has worked for CNN since 2008 and was originally based in Atlanta. But she gained new notoriety within the network after moving to New York in 2014, when she started directing two hours in the afternoon. She has proven popular enough with viewers to challenge Fox News Channel in ratings, and has been able to defend herself with the latest news or expand into lifestyle topics, including music. She was also an early proponent of digital storytelling, relaying an account of her ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro to viewers and anchoring streaming series about interesting female characters.
