Cobra Kai star Okea Eme-Akwari, who plays Shawn in the Karate kid sequel series on Netflix, hopes its masked fighter returns for the eleventh and final season of The walking dead. Eme-Akwari first appears as part of six new episodes extending Season 10, where Maggie (Lauren Cohan) reunites with Daryl (Norman Reedus) and his group of survivors after her years away. In “Home Sweet Home,” premiering February 28 on AMC, the mysterious man accompanying Maggie in October’s “A Certain Doom” unmasks himself as Elijah of Eme-Akwari – part of the new community as Maggie. found when she left the hill after an intense confrontation with jailed Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
“They’re doing a mini-season expansion, a six-episode season expansion to mark the end of season 10 before season 11 kicks off. After the coronavirus pandemic delayed the original Walking Dead Six-month Season 10 finale and postponed filming for Season 11, showrunner Angela Kang has announced that a six-episode expansion will fill what will become the final season of The walking dead.
“We have to shoot [the extended season 10] last fall and then they’re gearing up for season 11 now, so hopefully i’ll be a part of that too and go from there, “said Eme-Akwari.” it’s a really cool experience to do part of two. truly distinct fandoms that both have their individual energies. The same way i get Cobra Kai messages, I get a lot of Walking Dead people too. And it’s crazy because they’re both world shows now, mostly Walking Dead for a decade. “
Elijah d’Eme-Akwari is part of the “big story” that still awaits Maggie in season 10C. The mini-season is set in the aftermath of the Whisperer War, which would have counted Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) as a casualty had it not been for Maggie and Elijah’s last minute stoppage in “A Certain Doom”.
“She saw dark things on the road, and obviously like when she walks in she’s with this man like a metal mask, and who is this man, what adventures have they been on? It’s all part of history. forward, and that’s going to drive one of the major missions that we’ll start to see unfold, ”Kang said of Maggie’s return in October. “This will lead to us meeting other interesting characters who will go into some of the other great stories in our series going forward.”
