Moulins d’Alison “Ali” by Elisabeth Shue
Tamlyn Tomita’s Kumiko and Yuji Okumoto’s Chozen (and “Child in the Storm” Yuna!) Weren’t the only characters from The Karate Kid’s past to appear in Season 3.
The last three episodes starred Elisabeth Shue’s Alison “Ali” Mills, returning from Colorado to the valley for vacation.
And while it seemed like maybe there was a new spark rekindling between Ali and Johnny, who got to have a fun evening together playing mini golf and remembering their past, leaving the past behind. Being gone, Ali wasn’t there to dive in and mess everything between Johnny and Miguel’s mother, Carmen (Vanessa Rubio). She was also not there to cause (too much) tension between Johnny and Daniel – although there was at first.
At the Encino Oaks Club, Ali and Johnny joined Daniel and his wife Amanda (Courtney Henggeler) for an evening of drinks and memories, as Ali was finally able to tell him and tell his side of the story, regarding the great quarrel. between Daniel and Johnny decades earlier. She also revealed that Daniel, after The Karate Kid, essentially became the overprotective and jealous boyfriend that Johnny made the mistake of being. And, like with Johnny, it caused Ali to break up with Daniel.
Daniel and Johnny had made their peace several times over the first two seasons of Cobra Kai, only to see this fragile truce fall apart rather quickly. Alison, however, managed to bring these two together in a more meaningful way and prepare them for the huge choice they make at the very end of the episode.
Great moments for Sam, Miguel and Hawk
Meanwhile, as Daniel and Amanda were soaking up Johnny and Ali, Sam (Mary Mouser’s) attempt to reunite Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang’s students was ambushed by the growls. of Cobra Kai’s cold heart – and what followed was the climactic karate of Season 3. Brawl inside LaRusso’s house!
This brutal “one-shot” brawl did not only feature the teens lying against each other with fists, elbows, knees and feet, but also great character moments for three fighters – Sam, Miguel and Hawk.
Sam, who suffered from panic attacks and freezes since his fight with Tory (Peyton List) in high school, was able to overcome his fear by using the advice Mr. Miyagi gave Daniel when he was fighting Mike Barnes in Karate. Kid Part III. She then used a staff to fight a nunchuck-wielding Tory in her home’s dojo and sent her to pack her bags.
At the same time, Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), who had been struggling for months to regain the strength of his legs, used his inner rage and willpower to fight against Kyler, who had become one of the most recent and most recent students. most cruel of Cobra Kai. . Miguel may not have returned to full strength yet, but his energy and power were enough to defeat his school foe in Season 1.
The biggest turn, however, came from Hawk (Jacob Bertrand), who, after examining the damage he and his dojo mates had caused, decided to listen to his inner voice about Kreese’s lies and turn around. against Cobra Kai in the middle of the battle. Teaming up with his old friend Demetri (Gianni Decenzo), the two defeated the Cobra Kai soldiers with tandem ease.
Cobra Kai Origins and the Tease of Terry Silver by Thomas Ian Griffith
Throughout Season 3, viewers received the John Kreese story. The tragic suicide of his mother led him into a difficult life of being harassed and ostracized, which in turn led him into the military.
In the military, while serving overseas during the Vietnam War, Kreese was trained in karate and the ruthless ways of warfare and covert operations by his captain. Unfortunately, Kreese’s reluctance to kill his own friend resulted in his team being captured and held prisoner by the enemy. Blaming himself for their predicament, Kreese watched his friends fight in pairs to fight to the death on a snake pit. It was here that the mad and toxic John Kreese we know from The Karate Kid was born.
Not only did this crucible give birth to the name Cobra Kai, but it also showed that Kreese was a man pushed overboard when he outright murdered his captain over the snake pit after it was clear that they were all about to be saved. . Kreese had just learned that his girlfriend at home had passed away – a secret her captain had kept from her – and the news, along with the fight, prompted Kreese to break up and kill someone for no good reason.
So who’s calling Kreese at the end? While nothing has been confirmed yet, there’s a good chance Kreese will contact her Vietnam War pal Terry Silver, the man shown in Kreese’s flashbacks to be the most vulnerable of the bunch. The man who told Kreese he owed him for saving his life.
Terry Silver was the main antagonist of The Karate Kid Part III, where he was played by Thomas Ian Griffith. After the war, Terry learned karate himself and then used his wealth (which he had acquired by running a toxic waste disposal company) to create Cobra Kai and give it to John as a gift for him. can run. After John Kreese’s disgrace in Karate Kid I (and II), Terry took over Cobra Kai and concocted a plan to ruin and embarrass Daniel and Mr. Miyagi.
In the second season of Cobra Kai, Daniel told Sam and the others in Miyagi-Do that even him was once Cobra Kai. This is what Daniel was referring to. In The Karate Kid Part III, Terry lied to Daniel and told him he was running Cobra Kai in the right way and when Miyagi refused to train Daniel for another tournament fight, Daniel went to Cobra Kai and s ‘is trained under Terry. Again, it was quite a trap to lure Daniel into the final round of the All Valley tournament and have him wiped out by another fighter, “Karate’s Bad Boy” Mike Barnes (Sean Kanan).
Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang Alliance
While Daniel has no idea Kreese is (probably) calling Terry Silver to come and help him deal massive damage in Season 4, Cobra Kai, now with Johnny Robby’s son (Tanner Buchanan) as a student. star, is a threat enough to its own for Daniel and Johnny to finally put aside their differences and unite into one dojo. While they’re sure to fight over teaching styles, and possibly even a new name for the dojo, they’re going to need all of their courage and strength combined to fight Cobra Kai.
Kreese made the rules. Whoever loses in the next tournament is gone. Who will be the potential champion of each dojo? Do we watch Robby vs. Miguel again? But this time around, Robby, who lost his way after feeling abandoned and betrayed after Season 2, will be the ruthless fighter and Miguel, who is now back on the peace and defense side, will be the Miyagi representative. -Do?
Or could we see something more along the lines of Sam vs. Tory? We have known there is a female leg of the tournament since we saw Aisha fight in Season 1 (although we don’t know who won that installment). We also don’t know if mixed fighting is allowed, because if it is, there are even more possibilities.
Will there be a secret karate trick that will help propel Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang to the top this time around? Daniel has already busted his special paralysis strikes, which he learned in Okinawa, about Kreese in the finale. Could these return or will there be more magical martial arts to unlock?
What would you like to see happen in Cobra Kai: Season 4? Who will make it to the last round of All Valley? Will Mike Barnes return with Terry Silver?
And what about a possible appearance of Hilary Swank, as Julie Pierce of The Next Karate Kid in 1994? Daniel is going to need all the help he can get, right?
