The Dodgers mounted a sagging bat and another excellent pitching team performance to their 69th win of the season.
Pleasant.

Just like last night, the weather on the east coast decided to deteriorate and the Dodgers and Phillies had to deal with delayed rain.
Please get vaccinated so I can go to concerts again.
Today’s rain delay was shorter than yesterday. The Phillies had this one planned as well, because right before the first pitch they chose to start Connor brogdon in the place of Kyle Gibson. Brogdon and closer Hector Neris combined to keep the Dodgers off the board before the rain delay. David Price returned the favor and things were aimless thanks to three innings and a rain delay.
Gibson replaced the Phillies and after a scoreless third goal he struggled in the fourth. After a departure Corey seager walk and a flyout, Cody bellinger came on and had what was easily his best appearance at the plate of the season. Bellinger hit nine foul balls in a 13 batting pitch, completing it with an opposing field dong.
The homer did not kill the gathering, because AJ Pollock followed by a single. Matt beaty replaced him on the choice of a defensive player, then Price arrived.
Price couldn’t throw a #shutdowninning as he allowed a single with a putout in the bottom of the fourth. He then forced what could / should have been a double play late in the inning, but Trea turnerthe first pitch was high and the inning was kept alive. Didi Gregorious doubled up to put two runners in goal position, and old friend Ronald torreyes chosen to lead in the two riders. Price escaped further damage because Odubel herrera bat returned a bad luck flyout.
Both teams were silent until the seventh, when the Dodgers started with a single from Turner. Max Muncy was hit with a pitch, and Seager hit a Grounder that could have knocked the Phillies out of the inning. Instead, he fell under Alec bohmand gave the Dodgers a 4-2 lead. The error put the runners in the corners and a passed ball gave the Dodgers another run. A walk kicked Gibson out of the game, that’s how I learned Archie bradley was on the Phillies. Bradley struck out Bellinger at bat but gave Pollock a single to make it 6-2.
The round ended with a Brusdar graterol appearance of the plate.
Meanwhile, the Dodger reliever box continued to dominate yesterday’s game. On Tuesday, six relievers combined for 5 2/3 scoreless innings. Tonight, Price lasted four innings before being relieved by Phil bickford, who allowed a single in a scoreless fifth. When off home plate, Graterol gave the Dodgers two perfect innings with a pair of strikeouts. Blake Trenien got the eighth and took the side out in order.
Will smith started the ninth with a walk, and after a few strikeouts, Bellinger added a second homerun to make it 8-2.
Kenley jansen was heating up, but Bellinger’s circuit meant Edwin uceta got the ninth. Uceta allowed a single and a mistake from Turner kept the Phillies alive, but Uceta withdrew Brad miller to wrap up the 8-2 victory.

This gives the Dodgers their fifth win in their last six games. They have failed to regain ground on the Giants, who are currently beating the Diamondbacks again. They are looking for the sweep tomorrow in the phinale series (get it) (this is what you all get to make me recap). The Dodgers will be making a roster change ahead of tomorrow’s game because Mitch white is intended to be the starter or loose arm in a lifter set. Ranger Suarez starts for the Phillies, and the first pitch is at 10:05 am PDT.
