Major US-based crypto exchange Coinbase has been affected by outages on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing platform, the company reported yesterday.

Trading is not affected at this time, but you may experience intermittent delays or errors when submitting a support case or accessing other parts of our applications, ”initially said the exchange.

Coinbase users have reported all kinds of issues today, including their accounts being locked out and not receiving responses from the exchange’s help desk.

“You may experience intermittent delays or errors during the transaction, as well as accessing other parts of our applications. Customer support requests are also delayed, ”Coinbase added later.

According to various reports, starting yesterday, the AWS outage destroyed a whole bunch of internet platforms at every level.

Problems have been reported on 28 AWS products, according to ZDnet. Besides Coinbase, other affected platforms include Adobe Spark, Autodesk, DataCamp, Glassdoor, Flickr, iRobot, Roku, RSS Podcasting, The Washington Post, Downdetector, popular games like Pokemon Go and League of Legends, and many more. .

“We continue to work on resolving the issue affecting the Kinesis Data Streams API in the US-EAST-1 region,” Amazon said on its Service Status Dashboard, adding, “We also continue to see improved error rates for Kinesis and several affected services, but we expect full recovery to take a few more hours.”

As of 9:18 a.m. UTC today, Amazon reported that it has “restored all traffic to Kinesis Data Streams through all endpoints and is now functioning normally.”

“We also addressed error rates by invoking the CloudWatch APIs. We are continuing to work for a full recovery for IoT SiteWise and the service status details are below. All other services are functioning normally. We have identified the root cause of the Kinesis Data Streams event, and have taken immediate action to prevent it from happening again, ”the company reassured its users.

But so far, Coinbase is not yet fully back.
