Alert for the murder of two social leaders in Atlántico and Chocó

On Tuesday, the social leaders Felicinda Santamaría, in the department of Chocó, and Luis Barrios, in the Atlantic, were murdered.

According to the community of Barrio Virgen del Carmen, in community 2 of Quibdó, Felicinda Santamaría, president of the Community Action Board, was murdered by unknown people. The community denounces the presence of criminal gangs and criminal gangs in this territory.

"We are surprised by the silence that the national government faces in this file that day after day the leaders of the Community Action," said Jaime Gutiérrez Ospina, president of Asojuntas of the Corregimiento de la Marcada to Riqueralda Dosquebradas.

Similarly, in the Atlántico department, Luis Barrios Machado was badbadinated while enjoying the British Columbia match. The homicide took place in the Villa Paraíso de Palmar de Varela urbanization.

The victim was a citizen defender of this municipality, located in the east of the Atlantic, and apparently received threats, that he made known to the Secretary of the Interior of the department, Guillermo Polo Carbonell, with whom he had an appointment for next Thursday, in order to put in place a safety regime.

Witnesses testified that Luis Barrios Machado was shot dead while they were ten minutes away from the sports event, by two subjects who entered his residence and without saying a word he was shot twice and escaped to an unknown destination.

Seriously injured, Barrios Machado was helped by his family and friends, who took him to Varela's Palmar hospital, but because of the seriousness of the injuries, he was immediately transferred at the Hospital del Universidad del Norte. 2:00 in the afternoon he died.

Authorities continue investigations to clarify the reasons for the two murders.

Homicides have awakened rejection and generated anxiety in social networks.
