Already in this point, it was a historic vote, because no attempt at revocation happened in two decades until this instance.

The vote concluded with 1,609 votes for yes, 21 for no, 9 null and 17 unmarked cards.

When asked yesterday for this historic result, the already exalcalde blamed the legal and illegal exploitation of putting pressure on citizens to vote against him.

"I have how to show that the best management has been done," Garcia said in a statement, winner of the elections. of 2015 with the flags of the Green Alliance, explained that "many people went to the polls under pressure by their mining leaders."

The Tasco case is not a common case. Since the last 2015 regional election, the clerk's office has reported 17 calls for the revocation of the ballot box, which never exceeded the threshold of participation.

Not only have there been more than 100 initiatives since 2015 that have stayed in the previous stages, such as collecting signatures and validating expenses (see report). It must also be said that the law admits such a process only after a year of the election.

In addition, today, there are 88 initiatives to revoke mayors across the country who are still collecting signatures, according to the Registrar's Office accounts.
