Twenty-five countries from different continents gathered in Orlando, United States, from November 23 to 25, to give their best on the dance floor of one of the most important dance competitions in the world: All Dance International.
A group of 24 young people from Barranquilla and children from Donado's Julie Dance Academy traveled on behalf of Colombia and, as Shakira says in his hit global Hips do not lie, they showed that "In Barranquilla, she dances like this".
In Orlando, they received 16 trophies, in Panama with 13 and in Cali with five; In a race that started at the national level, he moved on to another continent and ended up giving them the joy of being one of the best groups in the world.
"We got the most important awards at All Dance International: the best choreography and the best dancer In Panama, at the All Dance Continental held in October, we won the big Coryban (first place) against 16 countries In May, at All Dance Colombia, held in Cali, we won at the national level the best professional group, revelatory choreography and the first five places with an equal number of stagings ", said Julie de Donado, founder of the Dance Academy. .
Donado defines these achievements as a growth of his academy and young people participating in the project. "Getting to this point was a job of great sacrifice and perseverance – it was five hours a day of rehearsal, but most of all, the most difficult thing was to change the token so that the dance would be perceived as a distraction or a game, like a way of life ".
Julieth Loza is part of the group of dancers who participated on behalf of Colombia. She describes this experience as one of the best of her life.
"These achievements are nothing more than the demonstration that each effort has its reward.These were months of daily work, prolonged and demanding.From the smallest to the largest, we all set out to achieve a good performance. Today, every sacrifice has its reward, "says Loza.
"What will never be" forget this experience, said the dancer, was the day they were rehearsing in a hallway with other groups and one of her clbadmates went on a podium near this one to repeat his solo.
"All the schools around us stopped their rehearsals to watch it dance, it was sensational."
