The river damaged at night in four areas of copacabana

The water of the river Aburrá (Medellín) has not yet darkened in the streets of the neighborhoods of La Asunción, Guadalajara, La Pradera and Machado in Copacabana. It exceeded its normal level and collapsed a retaining wall which, according to the inhabitants of La Asunción, informed the authorities because it was deteriorating. Carolina Ramírez, one of the affected people, recalled the moments of anxiety during which she was rescued with her son's arms by the firefighters because she had been trapped in her house. Yesterday, asphalt streets were not visible by the mud and trash cover, items that were gradually removed with the help of machinery and engineering battalion. The increase of streams La Tinajita and La Moreno, commune 5, surprised the inhabitants of Belalcázar and Girardot, who declared that 30 years ago, such a situation did not occur . The damaged sidewalks and debris that blocked the road were part of the scene that was seen Monday morning. Alexánder Castañeda said that the water had dragged his truck to his neighbor's house, while Jhon Villegas had arrived in the middle of the torrent to help his parents, who had been trapped after the collapse of his house wall under the pressure of the water and even will go to the opposite block.
