On Wednesday, November 28, one of this year's biggest events is scheduled. Students, teachers, workers and other unions will join a great social mobilization called "capital contribution".

Student mobilizations are convened at 7 am and will have different routes through Bogotá. Pay attention to the following routes that university students will take to avoid failures.

Students from the National University will travel west on 26th Street to Avenida Boyacá in the north and arrive to Race 80. The National Pedagogical University will walk on 72nd Street to the west, following the 80th Avenue to Boyacá Avenue

The University College of Cundinamarca will be mobilized from here to the seventh north and will end in the street 72. At this stage, they will join the pedagogical.

The faculty ASAB of the Universidad Distrital will walk along Avenida Jimenez towards the Plaza de Bolívar. The rest of the headquarters of this last institution will be mobilized by Avenida Agoberto Mejía until Timiza.

Students will leave with one goal: to increase the resources allocated to higher public education. Although the government has recently tabled a financial proposal for public universities, students say this is not enough.

The Ministry of Education proposed to include in the national development plan the increase of the budget base of public universities, as follows: the equivalent of the price index consumption (CPI) plus 3.5% for 2019; the CPI, plus 4%, for the years 2020 and 2021; and in 2022, 4.5% above the CPI base.

According to the calculations of the students, this would mean that higher education institutions would receive about 36 billion pesos in the budget over the four-year period.
