The distribution of the capital budget for 2019 began to be disrupted in the Finance Committee of Bogotá Council.

According to the Ministry of Finance, 85.4% of this total, which corresponds to 20.5 billion pesos, will be allocated to direct and indirect investments, the latter being represented by transfers to industrial and commercial companies of the district fund. and local development, mainly estimated at 5.5 billion. As planned, this sector will have a budget of $ 4.1 billion, with which the Secretariat will ensure that all the objectives set in the development plan are achieved, leaving, according to the entity, an inheritance that will transform the city forever.
However, the rector of the district university, Ricardo Garcia, insisted that the budget allocated did not correspond to the needs to be met, because in 2018, the Nation did not give them the agreed amount, for which he asked for the Council to carry out a rebadessment. resources for the year 2019.

This last proposal is largely supported by the rector of the district university: "With the district university having a series of education and infrastructure needs, I thought it would be great to do in the district what the national government had already done, while committing to increase the CPI budget – the consumer price index plus 3%, as the President of the Republic said, why not do it at the district university? ", he warned.
For now, the issue will remain under discussion as the budget must be approved by midnight on December 8th.
The budget presented to other sectors:
- Metro management in Bogotá: The budget presented for the subway company amounts to 1.5 billion dollars. This budget will be used to finance the acquisition of the properties, the transfer of the networks and the other investments necessary for the construction of the metro.

- The security sector: the budget needed for 2019 amounts to $ 523,388 million, which should enable the achievement of the objectives of the development plan, which includes the construction of the command of the Metropolitan Police and the However, at this point, several councilors have expressed concern over the 30% budget cut for 2019 compared to 2018.
