This Tuesday, the President of the United States, Donald Trump has threatened to cut all subsidies to General Motors (GM), after the country's largest automaker announced the closure of four factories in the country and the removal of thousands of jobs.
"The United States has saved General Motors, and these are the graces we are receiving! We are now considering removing all subsidies, even for electric cars," Trump said via his Twitter account.
Under federal law, GM electric vehicles may qualify for a $ 7,500 tax credit, but it is unclear how the government could limit them.

Following the announcement of the president, the actions of the automaker fell to the lowest of the session.
Trump's threat came a day after the company announced plans to cut about 14,000 jobs and close five facilities in the country. According to GM, these movements were intended to prepare the company for a future of driverless electric vehicles.
