Rivian is an American company founded in 2009 which, since its creation, was dedicated to the development of electric vehicles, but without having the media coverage, for example, which has been demonstrated since its creation by the Californian company Tesla.
After developing a prototype sports car, Rivian reformulated his plans and now introduces his R1T truck, a double cabin, four doors, with a capacity of five pbadengers, equipped with all-wheel drive, which in its version the more powerful offers 750 horses.
Rivian currently employs more than 500 people, has development centers in Michigan, California and also in Britain. She recently finalized the acquisition of a Mitsubishi plant located in the state of Illinois.

The R1T is a truck that will arrive on the North American market in 2020 and offers a level 3 autonomous driving system, offering users different configurations in its battery pack, which allows you to choose between options 105, 135 and 180 kWh capacity. The battery life varies from 370 to 640 kilometers, depending on the battery selected. As for power, its four engines (one for each wheel), will have 400, 700 or 750 hp, depending on the chosen battery pack. In all versions, the maximum speed is limited to 201 kilometers at the hour and to go from 0 to 60 kilometers at the hour (96 km / h) with a stopped start, you only need three seconds.
The dimensions of this truck, which should become a benchmark in its electric segment, are: 5.47 meters long, 2.01 wide and 1.81 high. It has a distance between axes of 3.45 meters and its off-road characteristics are obvious: its good clearance on the ground is 36 centimeters and its angle of attack is 34º, while the yield is 30º. to wade a meter. In order to protect the batteries against shocks, the bottom of the truck is reinforced with carbon fiber and kevlar to prevent any damage.
This qualifies the Rivian R1T as the first electric vehicle of its kind with authentic off-road capability.
